Finding Peace in the Midst of Anxiety

There are times in our lives when so much is happening around us. We look around and see people dying, wars and rumours of wars, natural disasters, and uncertainty on every side. It is easy to become anxious and overwhelmed by everything we see and hear.

Yet, as children of God, we have a blessed assurance. Jesus never promised that we would be free from life’s storms, but He did promise that He would be with us through them.

In the midst of every storm and every midnight hour, God offers us His peace—a peace that the world cannot give and cannot take away.

We are not alone. We have the Holy Spirit living within us. The Bible reminds us:

“Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.”
1 John 4:4

What a wonderful promise! No matter what is happening around us, the presence and power of God within us are greater than any fear, challenge, or uncertainty we may face.

The key is to trust in God’s promises. As we place our faith in Him and keep our hearts and minds focused on Him, He fills us with His perfect peace.

The prophet Isaiah wrote:

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.”
Isaiah 26:3

Today, if you are feeling anxious or troubled, remember that God is still in control. He has not forgotten you. He is your refuge, your strength, and your ever-present help in times of trouble.

Choose to fix your eyes on Christ rather than on your circumstances. His peace is available to you today.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being my refuge and my peace. When fear and anxiety try to overwhelm me, help me to remember that You are always with me. Strengthen my faith, calm my heart, and help me to keep my mind fixed on You.

Remind me each day that Your presence is greater than every challenge I face and that Your peace guards my heart and mind.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
